First SH post...first day of SH...The last 1K or so are my switch to 6-max today.

I actually felt pretty in control of my tables...used HUD to pick the juicy ones..donk donk donk...should I expect to lose most of this in the next 1K? or is .50/1 that much better 6-max? I know, varience..but damn, a 200BB day was sure nice for a change.

Just realize this: It's just as easy to drop 160BB's in 1000 hands as it is to win 200BB in the same time. That helps put the downswings in perspective.

..This assumes you're a 2BB/100 winner.

to be honest if youre playing .50/1 and youre good enough this should be about normal...i doubt youll experience any terrible downswings there

you are playing .5/1 6max? that game is insanely soft, the players are horrid

but its still gonna be fairly swingy, not as bad as the more aggro ones, but you will have bad days

but you might have enough to give 1/2 6max a little shot

Well hopefully it goes well...I'm seeing some of these stat posts and PT segregates 6-max...I cant figure out how to do this, can anyone shine the light on this n00b?

I'd like to move up...bankroll is no problem. I actually played about 15K hands of 1/2 full ring when I first started playing seriously a few months ago...I went from +1500.00 from a 50$ original stake (Bonunes /images/graemlins/smile.gif )down to 450.00 or so. I had too many leaks and started picking up bad habits. So I moved down.....Its been about 60 days or so, and Im back to 1K or so, I just want to wait to move up again until I'm more confident. Those -200BB days over and over stil plauge me with nightmares.

Don't move until your comfortable. I think one of the biggest mistakes new players can make is trying to move up the limits too fast. There's already alot of emotional and financial swings you have to undergo to play poker, don't compound the issue by playing in a game you're not comfortable being in.

That said, the 1/2 6max is incredibly soft. Go there as soon as you can.
