Trying to take chips from the small stack, hasnt been agressive at all. Anybody else make this play? I know it looks pretty awful

Bad play, I would fold, but pushing is atleast better than this IMO.

Ive done something similar a few times myself and regret most of them. If either of them call (which they often do at these stakes), the flop is gonna be pretty tricky. If they reraise, your almost pot committed right? (875-950 in the middle and 1000 chips left?)

Bottom line is that you dont have enough chips to do this.

Hope this isnt bad advice, Brian

I'm not saying this is an awesome play or anything. But it doesn't look bad at all.

The person who said push, in my opinion, couldn't possibly be more wrong.

Im still pretty new to sngs and folding would be my first choice, pushing my second. But you say raising is better. What do you if your called or reraised? push the flop if its checked to you or give up the pot?

Guess Im looking at this the wrong way, thxs in advance for any advice.

What i was thinking and it may only apply to lower levels, i was trying to put presure on the short stack, so what he loses in the bb i gain. I think in the higher levels to preserve the bubble a bigger stack might just push on top of me with any two. It sounds like a pretty weak theory though....
any other thoughts?

To tell you the truth I found that if a player bets 400 on button when the blinds are 150 or 425 is usaually a tell of weakness. But nice play. IF you get re-raised your done, and lost 400 chips.

I wouldn't make that play. Sit Tight.

I hate it, folding is better. U will have to lay down the hand if big stack comes over the top. And im not even mentioning the disaster that strikes if the small stack comes over the top.

I don't mind it. Strassa2 once had a post (for MTTs) where he said that you should simply find good spots to steal without really worrying about what you are holding. If you have a hand like A6o it is no better because you will still have to fold to a resteal. If you like the spot then go ahead and steal. Also if you are called then I would prefer having a hand like 87s rather than Ax because it takes flops better in general.

I'm not in anyway saying that this is a great play. But if your going to steal, I don't mind stealing with 8-7.

I don't like pushing because you are only being called by hands that beat you, and then you are either broke, or just doubled up the short stack.

Many STT and MTT posts have been made about stealing. I don't always think what the cards are, is all that important. But be sure I'm laying down a re-raise here.
