I had not raised too much preflop in this shorthanded session, but I had seen the lady in the BB call a few decent-sized raises and then show a bad hand at the showdown. The lady in the BB had pretty much accumulated all of her chips by making the minimum 300-chip when no one had bet in front of her. To me her flop bet didn't necessarily mean she had any kind of hand. I think I should have called the flop bet, checked the turn, and made a decision on the river. Any other suggested lines? Maybe raise more/ less preflop. I had gone all-in a few times to steal some blinds in previous hands so a push by me was more likely than normal to get called.

This is a fold preflop. When you raise to 700 he should be pushing any 2. Wait for the SB to go bust and then push a lot HU and hope to get lucky.

The low stack was probably going to push all-in on that hand. Wouldn't I want to call so that I could do a cooperation play with the big stack?

If you still say I should fold, what about if the low stack had 1000 instead of 390? Do you still fold or are you just folding b/c that guy is so close to busting out? Another reason I wanted to play the hand is because I had the button. Does that matter?

I fold preflop and I don't think it is very close.

What makes you sure you are going to get a "cooperation play" and if you wanted that then why didn't you limp?

What hand would you want to play in this situation? K8s seems to be to be a pretty good hand on the button in three-handed competition. Do you just suggest playing very tightly because someone is close to getting eliminated?

Yes. I'm pushing AA or KK though.

That's me. I limp so I can stay in the hand and see what develops. If SB pushes and BB pushes, I'm going to assume the BB has him covered and I'll fold. SB pushes and BB folds I'll call. If everyone folds I'll call SB stupid. Of course I could be wrong. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
