I used to know how this works. It's the same deal if you stare at a green image and then look at white paper, you'll see green. (Could be off on the colors).

Trying to remember...is this the opponent process theory? Forgot all my basic Psych stuff.

I think the coolest optical illusion I have seen is the dragon illusion (http://www.grand-illusions.com/dragon.htm). Click on the link on the page to watch the video. It's crazy.

yeah its opponent process theory.
you see the opposite of the color.
blue triggers yellow and vise versa.
and red triggers green and vise versa.

make sure to check out the einstein illusion that they have on their main page. thats just as fantastic if not more impressive.

so far these 3 illusions have blown my mind (kipin's/dragon/einstein)
