my first instinct is to fold this faster than you can say "".

but I'm not sure it's correct.
me thinks you have 8 outs here (6 for the straight that aren't hearts, and 2 4s). But it's possible that you're drawing dead already and can lose a lot of chips if you make your hand.

anyway, suppose you have 8 solid outs. The pot has about 200 before the flop. Now assuming everyone else calls this minraise (scary min-raise, btw) you will be getting 4:1 on your call.

Definately a fold in my book.

Folds, sb could re-raise.

Another reason for folding is that a lot of my outs might not be clean (A/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif), and I could be drawing close to dead or chop to a made straight or set, with 3 people liking their hand.

Fold preflop, fold on the flop.

BTW why do you play at Pstars? You'd think that it would reduce hourly rate.

Fold preflop,

Wrong. I will give you as much explanation as you gave me.

fold on the flop.

Why?

I moved to PStars for WSOP satellites. And I think I like the structure better than Party. Note I play the turbos, not the regular SnGs.

True dat.

I just saw the action and didn't even pay too much attention to the villain's possible holdings.

The other thing to consider is that I *am* getting 3.3:1.

Besides some of your outs not being clean, some of your outs are probably in the hands of your opponents; probably at least one of the Aces.

You've got something there, but I don't think it is enough.

I agree, though it was painful to fold at the time. I folded.

No one ended up getting allin, but by the end of the hand the SB had folded, the BB raised the flop after I folded and ended up showing 65 for the flopped nuts, and MP2 had 33 for a flopped set.

Yah, top pair on a 4 high board loses some value too /images/graemlins/wink.gif

durron, easy muck. Live to play another day. Losing this hand is more pivotal in the large scheme of things, than winning (especially when you consider your chances of winning). It's early, and there's multiple action.

That's what I thought too when I folded. It's just that I have such a strong draw vs. 1 pair hands that it was like "damn, how can I fold". Then I realized how many outs might be unclean, in my opponents hands, how I might be drawing dead or close to it, so I folded.
