View Full Version : Poker Room. 11's, 16 OOTM? Not bad beat post! (Kinda long)

So Ive been winning at the 11s for a long while now. They're extremly soft (They were...) and the plays definatly more beatable than party (Maybe not anymore).

I moved up to the 22's a while ago (challenge of 60 in 2 days 4 tabling), did well in the begining both days, but continued to play for 8 hours, got burnt out, broke even, and moved back down becuase I really dont have the roll yet.

At the begining of this week, things went fine, just normal swings and all. Thurs. and Today (Fri.) are incredibly difficult all of the sudden. Even though Poker Room has gotten larger, with about 11,000 players (before 8000-9000), all of the sudden its incredibly tight.

I write down my OOTM and a few other details so I know why I busted. Some bad beats yeah, but more than half are coin flips or underdogs. In the last 20 Ive played, more than half of them were at lvl 5, 75/150 blind, with 7-9 players left. Almost all my 5ths and 4ths were becuase 1 or 2 players just got blinded out (many more 5ths than 4ths). The only thing I could do was push so I wasnt just sitting around and I couldnt play aggressive or raise.

This question is mainly concerning what to do with so many players left and high blinds. My post flop skills are fine, and all other areas are fair, soo....

After a bit of thinking, I realized that I didnt start attacking at 50/100 like I used to to gain extra chips while Im usually card dead. I think I was too scared becuase there were 9 people sitting at the table, and usually the big stack that busted player 10 would always call. Was this the problem in situations like this? I might move to party and learn to play with a short stack if this continues though.

Any other tips would be greatly appreiciated. Thanks.

You don't actually come close to asking a question in this post. Reread it, and then, calmly sit down and reformulate what you mean to ask. Keep in mind that most people don't (i think) know the structure of pokerroom sngs.

As an answer for what I think you might have been asking, yes, it is very possible that not stealing enough when the blinds start to get big (instead of waiting til they're actually big) is a problem that could be killing you.

More than likely you're just on a bad run. (and have flaws in your game no doubt, but bad runs happen to everyone.)

Yeah, Ive just got a lot on my mind so my post was a little crazy.

I was going to add the Poker Room structure...

1500 chips

Blinds
1 - 10/20
2 - 15/30
3 - 25/50
4 - 50/100
5 - 75/150
6 - 100/200
7 - 150/300
8 - 200/400
9 - 300/600
10 - 400/800
11 - 500/1000
12 - 600/1200

My question was what should you be doing with 9 players and blinds at 75/150. Or more so, what should have I done before the blinds got that high. I already have some thoughts on this, just would love to here more opinions.
