I'm leaving in an hour for a weekend visit to Vegas. Armed with a portable GPS system, a cell phone, a laptop and decent sum of cash, I plan to have my new living quarters identified and a lease signed in 30 hours. Per the advice of everyone who is anyone, I will be mostly checking out Green Valley sites. Any and all advice will be appreciated. I will be checking periodically in the next few days.

My first night as a resident in Vegas will almost certainly be August 16, and I will be resuming my journaling/blogging/whatever you want to call it as soon as I am settled out there.

This doesn't sound like a very useful thread if you're leaving in an hour. =\

So who is this anybody and everybody that you mention? I've seen a few "moving to Vegas" threads that didn't get many replies. Who says Green Valley? Why there?

From one trip that I made a year ago, there were some places in South LV (and east of 10) that weren't too hot; although places were nice, it's near Section 8 housing. I didn't look much in Green Valley (ran out of time) but that's where I woulda looked next. Summerlin was nice, but expensive and far away from the strip and airport. That's all I have. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

For those wondering, here's a handy map (http://www.vegasliving.com/25neighbor/) of Vegas-area neighborhoods.

Green Valley is very nice and more upper scale with a lot less than average crime.

10 doesn't run anywhere near Vegas. It runs east/west alont the southern most part of the U.S.

So if you're leaving Madison to get more work done, is Vegas necessarily the best place? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I mean, yeah, there's lots of poker there, but that might distract you from online play.

I know - I remember that thread -

it seems like going to Vegas to get away from ANYTHING bad for you is a bad idea unless it's an ex-girlfriend - otherwise, Madison may be party central but it's nothing to Vegas - jesus....

booze 24x7 - I'm amazed I made it out of that town alive - every time I come back my liver is scarred a bit more.

Wait, Las Vegas, Nevada? Oh nevermind then.

I guess I meant 15. Maybe. I'd look it up, but that sounds like work.

And considering that one of the criterion for his destination was hot college women, Las Vegas seems somewhat surprising.

I still think Austin fit his criteria best, but that's just me. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes, he should go blow his wad at the strip club, not at the casinos

Was there a problem with multiple unofficial Gonores moves to Vegas threads?
