1,000 Dollar Car - The Bottle Rockets and it is not close

thousand dollar car it ain't worth nothin'
thousand dollar car it ain't worth [censored]
might as well take your thousand dollars
and set fire to it

thousand dollar car ain't worth a dime
you lose your thousand dollars every time
oh why did I ever buy, a thousand dollar car?

a thousand dollar car is gonna let you down
more than it ever's gonna get you around
replace your gaskets and paint over your rust
you still end up with somethin' that you'll never trust

thousand dollar car its life was through
'bout 50,000 miles before it got to you
oh why did I ever buy, a thousand dollar car

thousand dollar car ain't even gonna roll
until you go at least another thousand in the hole
you sink your money in it and there you are
the owner of a two thousand dollar thousand dollar car

if you only got a thousand dollars
you outta just buy a good guitar
learn how to play it it'll take you farther
than any old thousand dollar car

if a thousand dollar car was truly worth a damn
then why would anybody ever spend ten grand?
oh why did I ever buy, a thousand dollar car?

I don't know if you can really call this "rock" but I like "Beep Beep" by the Playmates. I had to google the lyrics because i didn't know the title or artist.
[ QUOTE ]

Beep beep <sound of horn - beep beep!> Beep beep <beep beep>
His horn went beep beep beep <beep beep>
While riding in my Cadillac What to my surprise A little Nash Rambler was following me
About one-third my size The guy must have wanted to pass me out
As he kept on tooting his horn <beep beep>
I'll show him that a Cadillac Is not a car to scorn
<chorus>
I pushed my foot down to the floor To give the guy the shake
But the little Nash Rambler stayed right behind
He still had on his brake He must have thought his car had more guts
As he kept on tooting his horn <beep beep>
I'll show him that a Cadillac Is not a car to scorn
<chorus>
My car went in to passing gear And we took off with gust And soon we were doing ninety
Must have left him in the dust When I peeked in the mirror of my car
I couldn't believe my eyes The little Nash Rambler was right behind
You'd think that guy could fly
<chorus>
Now we're doing a hundred and ten It certainly was a race
For a Rambler to pass a Caddy Would be a big disgrace
The guy must have wanted to pass me out As he kept on tooting his horn
I'll show him that a Cadillac Is not a car to scorn
<chorus>
Now we're doing a hundred and twenty As fast as I could go
The Rambler pulled alongside of me As if we were going slow
The fellow rolled his window down And yelled for me to hear
"Hey buddy how can I get this car
out... of... second gear!"

Thunder Road takes place in a car in front of a window. "Come on Mary climb in, it's a town full of losers and we're pulling out of here to win."

Other Boss songs to mention-- Highway Patrolman has a car chase (but is too mellow to be best), Stolen Car is also mellow, Pink Cadillac has been remade too much. The Line only climaxes in front of a jeep but it's my favorite:

We were just about on the highway
when Bobby's jeep come up in the dust on my right
I pulled over and let my engine run
and stepped out into his lights
I felt myself movin'
felt my gun restin' 'neath my hand
we stood there starin' at each other
as off through the arroyo she ran

Bobby Ramirez he never said nothin'
6 months later I left the line...

And no mention of Thunder Kiss '65 by White Zombie? Dragula?

Bitchin' Camaro! Bitchin' Camaro!
I ran over my neighbors.
Bitchin' Camaro! Bitchin' Camaro!
Now I'm in all the papers.
My folks bought me a Bitchin' Camaro with no insurance to match
So if I happen to run you down, please don't leave a scratch.
I ran over some old lady one night at the county fair
and I didn't get arrested because my dad's the mayor.
Bitchin' Camaro! Bitchin' Camaro!
Donuts on your lawn.
Bitchin' Camaro! Bitchin' Camaro!
Tony, Orlando, and Dawn.
When I drive past the kids they all spit & cuss
'Cuz I've got a Bitchin' Camaro and they have to ride the bus.
So you better get out of my way when I run through your yard
'Cuz I've got a Bitchin' Camaro and an Exxon credit card.
Bitchin' Camaro! Bitchin' Camaro!
Hey man, where ya headed?
Bitchin' Camaro! Bitchin' Camaro!
I don't want unleaded!

the following are a bit off a stretch and are more about driving than a specific car but:

Judas Priest - Turbo Lover

ok, none of these would be considered the Best, but all the good ones have been mentioned already, how about:

Trampled Underfoot

Greasy slicked down body, groovy leather trim
I like the way you hold the road, mama, it ain't no sin

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Trouble-free transmission, helps your oil's flow
Mama, let me pump your gas, mama, let me do it all

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Dig that heavy metal underneath your hood
Baby, I could work all night, believe I've got the perfect tools

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

A model built for comfort, really built with style
Specialist tradition, mama, let me feast my eyes

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Factory air-conditioned, heat begins to rise
Guaranteed to run for hours, mama it's a perfect size

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Groovin' on the freeway, gauge is on the red
Gun down on my gasoline, I believe I'm gonna crack a head.

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)
I can't stop talkin' about...

Come to me for service every hundred miles
Baby, let me check your points, fix your overdrive

Talkin' 'bout love (X3)

Fully automatic, comes in any size

Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen - "Hot Rod Lincoln"

[/ QUOTE ]
That was the first one that came to my mind too. I'd like to place an honorable mention vote in for The Man In Black: One Piece at a Time

Well, I left Kentucky back in '49
An' went to Detroit workin' on a 'sembly line
The first year they had me puttin' wheels on cadillacs
Every day I'd watch them beauties roll by
And sometimes I'd hang my head and cry
'Cause I always wanted me one that was long and black.

One day I devised myself a plan
That should be the envy of most any man
I'd sneak it out of there in a lunchbox in my hand
Now gettin' caught meant gettin' fired
But I figured I'd have it all by the time I retired
I'd have me a car worth at least a hundred grand.

I'd get it one piece at a time
And it wouldn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is a round.
