We're getting down to the wire here. In a heartbreaking close finish Caddyshack knocked out my personal favorite, Airplane.

I voted for Princess Bride mostly for sentimental reasons (I loved that movie as a kid, watched it 1k times) but MAN was it a tough decision.

The fact that Airplane had to face Caddyshack in the round of 8 was disgusting. Both of those movies are more worthy of the final four than either Holy Grail or Princess Bride or the movies they beat. Ditto for Lebowski versus Office Space.

I voted Caddyshack and Office Space, and it's really not close for either. I was only half hearted, though, once Airplane was gone...

Agreed. If you're basing your vote on total merit as a movie, Princess bride could very reasonably top Office Space. However, with this poll being about comedies, I have been voting on pure comedic value. It's a great movie, and I thought it deservedly won in the first few rounds, but it's not even close to the funniest movie on this list.

Despite the egregious omissions of Airplane and Lebowski from the Final Four, these are pretty good.

The dream dies for Princess Bride here, though, and I think Caddyshack will have the legs for the semifinals, but not the finals.

I definetly agree that if you're gonna put Princess Bride in any category, it'd be comedy, since it certainly isn't a drama, and its not really a romantic comedy in the true sense. I guess that's what makes it such a good film, is that there isn't really any category it could really be pegged into. I'm a little surprised that Office Space has made it this far myself. Lebowski is a funnier movie, but I am a big fan of Office Space

For clarification- not because it is beating Princess Bride, but because there arennumerous movies that are SO much better and, as Clark has mentioned, the last half of the movie is the definition of "meh".

Agreed. Princess bride is my favorite movie on this list and maybe overall period. Though I wouldn't consider it the best comedy. Great movie, but it is more than just a comedy. with that said, office space is still overate. Great movie, but not the best.
