Just wondering if anyone has played at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Fl. They apparently have a decent number of tables? Also if you played there, how was it?

played there a couple of times.
Only tables they have are 1/2 and straight $2.
The last time was on a wednesday afternoon and the wait was over 2 hours.

Also, if i remember correctly, beer was about 5/glass

i live 10 minutes away they have 5 dollar tables there but thats the max they also have tournys every tuesday. The players there are all tourist LAG and guys that have no idea what they are doing, i once sat down next to this asian lady who every time it was her turn she bet every TIME! its like having a goldmine in the back of my house. Play the way SSH says and your gonna walk out up like 400 - 500 bucks a day. Warning you will be sucked out on so much you will barf you will have a set of aces and get scared cuz so many people are calling you. people stay for guts runner runner its really bad there. But play like you should and the bad beats will roll off your back. Its so loose their cuz i think it cost like 500 a night so its basically a bunch of rich tourest looking to blow some money.

First time i went their i was up like 500 after 12 hours on the 5 dollar tables.

Its a very nice room too the waitreses are hot and the beer is not that expensive as the other poster said. So if you like taking rich tourest money go there.

What do you mean by five dollar tables? I was the impression that no casino in Florida can have a BB bigger than $2, which is why there are only $1/2 and straight $2 tables in all the casinos I've been to here in Florida.

I live in Fort Lauderdale and spent a fair amount of time at the Hollywood Hard rock when I was playing low limits. Please, Please, Please do not waste your time there, because the rake will eat any profits you can make. Here's how the rake works for their 1/2, and 2/2 ring games.

- $1 minimum rake of all hands
- when the pot reaches $10, another $1 is taken, another $1 at $20, etc.
- when the pot reaches $10, $1 is taken out for the jackpot drop.
- I think the max rake is $5 per hand, not sure though. But at 1/2, the pot needs to be 15bb or higher to max it out.
- $1 dealer tip is per pot won is standard at almost all limits (until you get really big). So at $20-40, thats not a big deal. At 1/2, its a much bigger deal.

So basically a $10 pot is raked $3. A $20 pot is raked $4, and a $30 pot is raked $5.

Now for the tournaments, I have never played one, but talked to people who have played SNGs. I don't know how the multi tables work.

SNGS: range from $100+35 to $500 + $75. (I think those fee numbers are right, I can't remember exactly, but they are high). You start with t1500 in chips, and blinds start at 50-100. They double after 15 minutes.

I hope this information helps. Until Florida passes class III gaming laws, this is what we're stuck with.
