Just recently moved to the table, no real reads except that one of the limpers who mucks is a 2+2er. What range of hands do you put an unknown on here? I know mine would be pretty wide.

gambooooooooooooool. I love calling in spots like this. its the right play, it doesnt hurt your stack that much, and it scares the crap out of players who dont know whats going on.

One of the things about HOH2 that surprised me a little, is the liberal range of hands that Harrington says he'll call with - even just to see a flop - when you're getting 2-1 or so on the call.

In this case, closing the action, I agree with MLG, you can gambool with that stack size.

That, I think, is my number one favourite play. All that dead money, and you get to look like a psychopath... pretty darn cool.

Good call considering your stack.

I don't want to HJ this post, but I was also suprised at the calling range in HOH2 with 2:1 pot odds. Did Dan write that section, because his play does not tend to follow some of the concepts in HOH2. I've seen him lay down hands a lot better than some in the example problems, getting 2:1 or better on his money. He is known as a rock, but the ideas in HOH2 are not rockish at all.

Don't get me wrong, I love the book...just wondering if anyone else found the content to be surprising given Dan's style.

I agree that I'd probably make the call with your stack size.

But to Pat, MLG, and Chief...

at what stack size do you pass on this call as a whiff does too much damage?

I'm thinking somewhere between 40-50K.

Thoughts?
