I experiment with my game a lot, maybe I'm just a retard. My hand is probably good enough to see a flop against 2 random hands with position, but my stack can't take too much action postflop if I miss my set, especially against the 2 bigger stacks. Acceptable to see a cheap flop here?

I pretty much just don't openlimp on the button five-handed. Unless I've got something that I'm dying for action on (pretty much, AA or KK). WHich of course means that if I played at a level where my opponents paid attention, they would realize not to give me action when I limped on the button. Luckily, I don't.

So, no, I never do it. What's your reasoning for not just raising to take it down? The fact that it will appear to be a steal, and you can't call a reraise?

I think it's an ok line as long as you bet the flop if it's checked to you, no matter what it has. Sometimes it's just a cheaper way to steal then putting your whole stack at risk.

I'd usually prefer a raise here. You'll take it down way too often against most players to give them a free look at the flop. Do you have any reads on them? If they call way too much (probably pretty typical for an early-game big stack at the $10's), I wouldn't mind a limp since you keep the pot small, don't commit too much of your stack, and can steal with a smaller bet after the flop. Against most players though I'd raise and try to take the blinds preflop.

I would never do this, and I would raise every time.

Both blinds were lose, and would call a 150 raise with a wide range of hands.

Would you consider it with a 600 stack, or is that a fold/push?

I don't mind it at all then. It should be very easy to read if they miss the flop -- they'll likely bet out if they make a decent hand (no reason to try for a check/raise since they can't expect you to bet after limping). Against blinds who are really loose preflop with calling raises, I think this is fine since you've got position.

Oh, the other reason why I think limping is okay is because a push is a gigantic raise and a standard 2.5-3.5x BB raise is a very large chunk of your stack that you don't really want to be called.

Edit -- Just to be clear, at least one of them will have to call a very large % of the time for me to do this. If they're just "kind of" loose, I'd prefer the raise.

I would never limp here regardless of my stack size.
