OK. Does anyone else just think this guy is just playing around for amusement with his posts?

I doubt someone could really buy into that "double up theory" once it (and its flawed logic) had been explained to them the same way by numerous people, who don't know each other, and have nothing invested in convincing him otherwise (other than to help those that have come after them in a long line of gambling junkies).

Also, in regards to "I've been gambling for 4 years and JUST calculated it and I'm up 600." or whatever those two quotes were.

PLA-EEZ. Gamblers, especialy ones with a problem, tend to remember a few big wins and forget many small losses (sometimes even big ones).

Agai, I'm not sure any of this is real so it may be mute.

Thoughts??

lol, I request a history of my withdrawals and deposits every year from sportsbook. I just had to figure out where I was this year. Not really sure what is not to believe about my story because it's all true.

Back when I first started I was a junior in high school. I always deposited $50 and always bet the minimum $10. I started during NFL and made 10 dollar parlays for the most part. I made 20 '10 dollar' 3 team parlays in one weekend of college/nfl football after a big 12-1 payout on a parlay the previous week. That's about when I started to enjoy the 'gamble'

I was pretty much a minimum wager type player who would make 20 plays a weekend throughout high school. I always had a job and always had under 1000 in the bank. The first time I really took a shot at a big bet was when I was working at a gas station senior year I think it was. It was during the NBA playoffs and I forget the teams. I made a 560 dollar bet on under 43 in the first quarter. I was called into work and I couldn't watch the first quarter. I remember getting home and going to cbssportsline and covering up the scores and revealing them slowly. I was so pumped. When I revealed the first score, it was 23. I WAS PISSED. I slowly removed the 2nd score and it was 19, for the sweet payout. At the time I had about 1300 to my name (after the win).

When I went off to college at Wichita State, I got introduced to poker. I started up on Party and deposited 50 dollars 8 times before I started winning. I remember when I got over 1000 in there for the first time, I was so happy. That same weekend I won between 300-500 in football. Here is where I made a huge mistake. I got really greedy and placed an 800 dollar , 2 team parlay in baseball. It was with the LA Dodgers and the KC Royals. I pretty much never bet baseball and I have no idea why I did it. I guess I just wanted to gamble. If i remember right, the LA money line was around -120. The KC money line was around -230 or something. They were playing the Tigers. This was the year that the Tigers really really really sucked. Well LA won but it didn't matter. Detroit decided to have their best game of the season. They scored in all of the first 7 innings. I think they won 16-7 or something like that.

I was crushed. I continued to play poker and win minimal amounts. I had never read a book, and I never really had anybody to get advice from. I constantly played above my bankroll. About November of that year I met the person who changed my poker career. He was a 5/10 6max player at the time we started talking. We were introduced through a friend.

I remember him telling us that he made 10k in poker that year and we were baffled. We were so impressed. Well this guy (who i'll remain annonymous) decided to take a shot at a 200k guaranteed on a Saturday. Well he ended up winning it and he made like 51k. This jump started his poker career. He plays 10/20 now and has made 6 figures since that win early last year. Anyways, to get back on subject, he taught me everything I know about poker.

I started playing seriously last september at the 1/2 6max tables. I've worked my way up to 5/10 and have made just over 11k since september. I've almost always played within my means in poker, but when it comes to sports, I like to gamble. I haven't worked since Summer of 2003 and I don't plan on getting a job til I'm out of college, depending on where poker takes me.

Now that I finally have some money in the bank, I like to throw some 200-300 bets down every so often. I've always avoided the huge disasterous downswing in sports. I usually start off betting between 50-100 and then I go on a nice run and then really increase my bets and eventually dump it all back to the sportsbooks. Or I'll deposit 1000 and i'll bet 100, then 200, then 200, then go all in for 500 and hit that one. I've never really lost a crucial bet.

I'm going to try really hard to play within my means. This will be a lot easier now that I have about 8k saved up. If things go according to plan, I'm going to deposit 2k into sportsbook and make flat bets of 2% once football starts.

I guess to make a long story short, I like to gamble, but maybe with some of your help I can start doing this the right way.
