Ive Read that Video poker is another Vegas Game in which the odds can be turned in your favor with smart strategic play, Im Looking for any good articles / resources on the subject. I suppose I could start out by buying the 2+2 book, but I would like to see some internet resources first. Any help is appreciated

Check out the "Other Gambling" forum. They talk about video poker there a lot.

The quick answer is that with perfect play and the best conditions, you'll make a less than $5 an hour.

From what I understand, its only +ev because of the straight flush jackpots. No jackpot, no ev

Disclaimer: I haven't been reading about advantage-play VP for a few years.

Aside from the other forum, there are strategy cards/ books/articles by "Jazbo," Dan Paymar, and Bob Dancer that I remember being interesting from a few years ago.

Quick summary: There are some VP game pay schedules which are over 100% expectation using perfect strategy. Some of these games were Deuces Wild, Double Bonus, and All American. These are only with a particular payout schedule -- i.e. most Deuces Wild machines are NOT "full pay."

Even a couple years ago, some of these machines were rare, and never on the strip in the glitzy casinos.

Furthermore, some of the perfect strategy is difficult (10-7 Double Bonus for example.)

Also, the variance is really significant. If you don't hit enough high-paying hands in a long session, you will certainly be losing.
