Aren't we supposed to fold this flop getting 2:1 with 2 people to act behind us?

I think its close.

Q out is probably no good.

K out is debatable.

by close I mean the flop call and not hte turn.

reads/stats on button?

I had no reads or stats. I was new to the table and the players.

I figured the player had the following: Ax (I didn't rule out A9) or a set of 9s. It crossed my mind that he called with AK, in which case I was in big trouble.

This was a tough spot for me and, as always, I was able to convince myself not to play it any further:
o I figured a Q could have made a straight.
o AK and another king kills me.
o If the player had a set, another K doesn't help me.
o If the player had A9, hitting my second pair didn't help me either.

I figured I was drawing to the flush and MAYBE the straight once the 10 hit on the turn. My opponent's betting indicated to me he/she wanted me out of the pot (supporting Ax) or had a perfect read that I was on the flush draw.

With a monster like a set of 9s, why drive the original bettor out by raising to 12?

If only this went thru your head pre-flop on utg+2's raise.

theordinaryboy, do you feel I should have folded to UTG+2's raise? Wondering if others would have made the same fold. I would consider KQs with position on the raiser to be OK particularly considering it was a minraise. In other words, good hand, position on the raiser, see the flop cheap.

But perhaps my logic is precisely why I don't make money playing poker! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyone else have comments on this?

I probably wouldn't have called PF with that hand, not with where you were sitting. Too many ways to make a pretty good hand and still be beat.

That's just my opinion, though, and that's based primarily on the fact that KQ is a hand that I've lost big with a bunch of times.
