Car State Inspected in VA any bearing on MD? + ? on 98 VW Jetta GLX

my sister is looking at cars, so if a car has passed Virginia inspections, will it need to take the state of Maryland inspections?

how is the VW Jetta GLX '98 do as far as maintenance costs?
$6500 w/ 60k miles and all seems to be in good condition. KBB is $8k

Yes, but most places state inspections are like $10.

If she is going to be living in MD she has to register it and I think that can be close to $200. I might be mistaken though. A guy at work had to do this.
