Ok, so my plan is to move to UK...

Hello !

I am from Poland. I am semipro player (and pro soon).
The problem is that in Poland playing online poker is not quite legal. In UK it is as far as I know.
So my plan is to move to UK and stay there for few years (south coast for sure as I was there once and I loved the place).
Any thoughts about going to UK ? Maybe other countries would be better for the purpose ? Are there many pro players in UK ? Other comments ?

there are lots of Poles in London, so you should be able to find a nice community. Gambling winnings are totally tax free over here which is fantastic. Cost of living is quite high in London but you Birmingham is half the price and still offers all the attractions of a major city (though London is better in almost every way bar curries). Wizz Air offers some really cheap flights from London to Poland so you could go home quite regularly.

Quasi legality > 5$ for a pint of beer and at least $700 a month to live anywhere begining to approach decent plus about 180$ council tax a month. 60$ a week on food minimum.

keep your expenses low and stay in Poland.

Birmingham is still going to seem realy expensive after Poland and is one of the ugliest citys in Europe.

I suspect if you move to the UK your standard of living will possibly go down things are much more expensive than in Poland and our exchange rate with the $ isnt too good at the moment.

Tax wise obviously no problems, can come here under EU law without a work permit, internet access is good here so as long as you are making at least $3,000 a month its certainly do-able to rent a decent place and have going out/living money.

Theres a decent live poker scene on the south coat as well Brighton and Southend for starters.

The problem is in Poland I cant play taxes and I cant make my poker money legal. In UK I can.
I think I am able to make decent living even in UK.
To citys... I thought about Bournemouth because I was there once. Any opinions about this town ?

I suspect he is white so he will be fine, there are no undergrounds in Bournemouth neither so I thikn he should just about get away with it.
