View Full Version : Weak K4s hand from Mid-Late position.

I've already gotten a thorough berating for the loose pre-flop call from my buddies over at Something Awful, but feel free to yell at me too.

My read on Button is a sLP-A player, though I'd only been sitting with him for 50 hands. VPIP around 28% with only a handful of flop raises (4%), but generally went aggro (3.0+ af) after the flop. Again this was only after a few orbits though. Everyone else playing is a general loose passive/passive.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (8 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 4/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (6 SB) K/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, Button raises, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls, MP1 folds, Hero calls.

Eh, a weak top pair hand. Marginal at best. I was hoping to fold the button. Should I just drop this when he insta-raises behind me? I do have the backdoor straight draw. The pot is pretty large here.

Turn: (6 BB) T/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks, Button bets, UTG folds, Hero folds.

Bleh. Flush hits, doesn't help me at all, but I'm getting 7:1 with top pair. Is this a bad fold?

Final Pot: 7 BB

edit: someone over at SA said that this is extremely similar to a K3o hand in SSHE, but I can't seem to find it, can anyone tell me the page number?

Flop: Don't bet and call one sb, or bet and call when it's one small bet back to me?

Also, I found the SSHE hand, it's on the "loose flop calls" on page 241 if anyone is interested.
