Take a probable coin flip at this stage?

From the Empire $100 Happy Hour. 12 left (i've already won $17!), top 3 finish is all that matters.

My image was quite TAG; I did not play too many hands the entire tournament, and only showed down a few.

Villan was erratic, but had shown a propensity to shove his stack with very mediocre hands (winning a few). Bottom line, I "knew" that I had a race here.

Do you guys take the coin flip at this stage given my stack size? The level of play was weak to average and a win on this hand would pretty much assure me a deep finish.

It seems quite probable that he could have you dominated with a number of hands, i.e. 55 or higher. However, if you told me you were 100% sure he had AK I would take the coinflip here.

Fold here. If the situation was reversed, and the villain was first in with a raise, I'd make an argument for an all-in re-raise with 44, but I'm not calling with it. No freakin way.

I was 90% sure; so I called. He showed A6 - results from there dont matter. Normally I would fold, but I was so sure of my read (and knew I would need to win a flip eventually) so I took the chance.

I might make an all-in bet, but never an all-in call with a pocket pair that low. The fact that a fold would still leave you with a decent stack left is even more reason to get out and make your stand another time.
