I saw this villian make a bluff with 6 high once.

I like this and would play it roughly the same way especially if he is a known bluffer. The large bet on the turn is normally a bluff or a VERY marginal hand.

Well if he has made a bluff with 6 high i woudlnt put him on entering pots with very good cards, so this flop might have hit him. you have outs obviously, a straight or maybe even a set could win it for you. He might even be on a flush draw. If it were me, i wouldnt put all my chips into this pot, you havent invested a huge amount and its still early in the tournament. Fold and move on.

I have second pair, which could be the best hand, and I usually have 10 outs if I don't.

Well played. The only things you are likely to be fearing at this point are a spade on the river or 8x of some sort, which is possible for a loose player. I guess it is also possible he made his straight and wanted to make the flush draw pay and the more I think the more likely this scenario becomes as he capitalizes on the loose image. I must know the results now. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I still like the play and you have your redraws in any case.

I wonder if my flop bet is too big. This is a tough one to lay down on the turn because he's getting 3:1 to call me. If I bet less on the flop he might bet less on the turn thus might be able to lay down on the turn?

Or should I just fold because of his great price?

He had 8h 9h, called, and I was done.

I still think the preflop check is correct. I'm wondering about flop bet size; I'm giving Villian too good a price to call the turn checkraise.

Curious about the preflop check -- are you trapping, concerned about being trapped, or just wanting to see the flop for cheap? As an aside, I loved the subject line for this thread -- LOL.

Yes. My stack is too deep to push and too shallow to want to make this a raised pot. Besides, I'm HU anyway.
