roi=return on investment
it's not a poker term...it's an investment term in general...if u are analyzing your portfolio or starting a business, u care about roi

for sngs, u just do amount won divided by amount paid to buy in (ie 10 10/1 sngs would be 110)

so if u play 10 10/1 sngs and get 2 firsts, 1 2nd, 1 3rd, then u won 150...150/110=1.3636 so your roi=36.36%

it's important cause that's how you know if u won money or not...if it's negative then fix your leaks or learn a new game...if it's 30% or so over a large sample size and u have the bankroll, move up

The answer is the same, but ROI is usually shown as profit/investment,
you made $40 profit on an investment of $110 (40/110=.3636 or 36.36% ROI)
