i'm going to take a stab here, because I'm only starting out at NL poker and this forum. Bet. Bet half the pot, see what happens.

why should he fold preflop?

Because your position is crap. Let me put it another way. What if MP1 or the BB re-raises you? Do you call? Push? If you don't feel this hand is strong enough to go to the felt with, you don't bother with it at the 25/50 level from EP. It's a leak. It simply is not a hand to be messing with like this, and you can't get those 150 chips back, it's not like a ring game you know.

Ok. Thanks for the reply.

What about AJ heads up, and being chip leader? Do you see a raise? Is it position dependent?

It's position and opponent dependent, and also as to what stage of the game you're at, how desperate you are in terms of chips, there is no hard and fast answer, but here it is a fold, now if there were all folds to the button to you, and probably even the CO, then sure bring it in for a raise to try to take the blinds, there's nothing wrong with that, but from such an early position it should be folded.

Heh, that's about how it went down. I was bummed by the two calls but I'm donk stubborn so I fired off a continuation bet and MP1 snapped it off with a push. Totally misplayed this hand start to finish.
