Nope, only 100BB here. Can't stay off tilt long enough to lose much more than that.

-260BB at 2/4
6-tabling and was split between two different sessions during the day. I feel sad when I think about that day /images/graemlins/frown.gif

On a related note, I've had a 2 week downswing at 5-10 shorthanded for about 2 grand. It sucks. I've won consistently in the past (started in August 04) at 50c/100 and made about 5 grand, and this is my biggest downswing ever. Nothing seems to go right.

What is an average downswing for a 5-10 shorthand hold em player? Is a 2 grand downswing large enough to indicate that my game (which has worked in the past) is broken and needs to be reworked? Or just some bad luck that I can anticipate bouncing back from?

Thanks,

Calcbandit ps sorry to hijack your topic.

200 BB downswings in a short game certainly happens to winning players with more regularity than one might think. that is why it is so important to be bankrolled properly.

this reply is not meant to say you don't have leaks to fix, BTW, just that 2K in the $5/10 short game is not unheard of.

cheers!

I think my worst day is somewhere in the 170 range as well.

I thought I'd be competitive in this one as I have a tough time quitting when stuck but I checked my spreadsheets and my worst was under 100BB. Knock on wood.

120 BB in 500 hands at 3/6 6 max (less than 20% at SD, including losing on one hand with quads)

You should be quitting for the day if you reach 100BBs or so. Tilt will become a factor for 98% of us when it's going this bad.

190 at 15/30, down $5800 for the day.

Lost over 500 BB's during that 6 week slide too.

-$2300 at Pacific 10-20 1 Table . Only 115 BB's but for only one table that is pretty brutal. One of several times I have "quit poker forever."

120BB over 600 hands three-tabling 5/10 full.

325bb in about 2000 hands. Play short 10/20 and am a winning player but occasionally have freakishly bad stretches.

-177BB over about 2000 hands. Running bad and playing bad, not a good combo.

I understand a flame is most likely what I'll get here, but I have to ask as a newbie before I ask 2 years into it and get massively flamed.

Can I assume the BB in this post means "Big Bets" lost in a single day? I'm just curious because I purchased PokerTracker last week, and see the "BB / 100 Hands" statistic. I wanted to see what my worst day was, even though I've only got a measley 6 days logged so far.

Live 5/10 I've lost 600 in 10 hours. At 30 hands per hour, that's something like -20 bb/ 100 hands. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Live 1/2 blinds NLHE, I've lost $800 in a session lasting maybe 5 hours.

Live nlhe win (same stakes) max win 1400 in 10 hours.

5/10 max win 1040 in 8 hours.

Go into the preferences tab when you're looking at your stats, then set the filter by date to find the range that you're working with.

I respectfully disagree

the other day I dropped 100BBs in just a couple of hours. the thing is, I was cycling through most of my tables a lot trying to find the fishies, never once had to rebuy, and never once checked PT or my cashiers balance. My gut was telling me that I was up for the day (a couple of the tables I had left open the entire time, and was up maybe 40-50BBs on those two).

when I closed up shop and went over to PT to review some things, I giggled a little when I saw my gigantic (WIN RATE)

tilt is just a state of mind.

and if you can't handle it in the moment how are you going to handle it tomorrow when the month is almost over and your win rate for the month is now at .04bb/100, etc? it's just one big game after all

Hmmm... about 85BB in under two hours online single
table six handed (no limit hold'em). And I'd been
been running decent for almost a year on that site.

I mean I'd flop two pair, guy makes a big pot sized
bet on flop, and I'd push and guess what... he turns
over a bigger two pair... it was like that the whole
session... ouch... this is why you should stay in
school kids!

One day I lost 500BBs in 10 long HU matches.

Of course, it was at 0.02/0.04.

I do miss that $20 /images/graemlins/frown.gif

If you lost 250 playing 2/4 you can find out your BB lost by doing 250/4 (b/c 4 is the big bet).

Speaking of those numbers, that just happened to my last night. I lost both my flopped sets to higher boats. It wasn't runner runner 4 card straights and flushes it was higher boats. :'(

I once lost over a 100 BB's in less than 10 hours of B&M play.

Awful day. It haunts me still.
