Villain is a LAG - 62/18/1.8 and I hate having him on my left. He's been playing fairly sane postflop, though.

Should I quit poker after folding this?

Against a LAG, I ain't folding this since it could just be an awkwardly played overpair or a As9 that just got the nut flush draw to go with his TPTK.

Vs. a more passive player, a fold here is possible. This just aint it though.

So what's the best line to get to SD when a scarecard like that hits? Just check/call or bet/call the turn and bet/call any non spade river?

So what hand range do you put this Villain on?

The lone 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif for one. One pair with a big spade. Two pair. A set, straight or flush are also possible.

Someone with a 1.8 AF postflop who plays 60% of their hands is very very very aggressive. You just can't fold here.

Thanks for the advice y'all. I usually don't play like this, but I've been kind of going through a period of adjustment where I am trying to start selectively respecting raises.

I'm embarrassed at making this play, but I think it's part of the learning process.

Three betting this turn is definitely a little too spastic.
Easy, tiger!

There's no room for embarrassment in poker.

Don't ever fold an overpair heads up vs a LAG again.

Is it worth anything that if I didn't have poker tracker, I would have folded this in a heartbeat? I had been playing with this guy for at least 3 orbits and hadn't seen him do anything wacky at all, both pre- and post-flop. He had been playing a lot of hands and cold-calling a lot, then folding postflop.

Here's an example, our LAG is UTG in this hand:

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q/images/graemlins/club.gif, T/images/graemlins/club.gif.
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG calls.

Flop: (7 SB) K/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, UTG calls.

River: (6.50 BB) J/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

Results below:
SB has 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif K/images/graemlins/heart.gif (two pair, kings and jacks).
UTG has 8/images/graemlins/club.gif A/images/graemlins/spade.gif (two pair, aces and jacks).
Outcome: UTG wins 8.50 BB.
