Just started reading this part of the forum and had a question. Is the consensus that a player start at the $6 buyin and work his way up after so many tournaments where you are showing a good profit like is suggested for limit play? If so, what would be some round numbers that may tell you if you are ready to jump to the next level?

a) read the faq
b) most people agree that starting at the 6's is bad because you pay the same rake at the 6s and 11s, while the level of competition is very similar. so if you have the means playing the 11s is superior to playing the 6s

if you must play 6's, play 5+.50's at another site (stars or ub, i know, probably others).
