View Full Version : Kids' TV Which is More Gay?

We have been running a lot of kids' programming for my two year-old. I am astonished at the level of gayness in this stuff. Tinkie Winkie loves wearing the tutu and carries a purse; Barney's little buddy is named B.J. fer cryin' out loud. Some (OK, many) of you are young enough to have watched this stuff in your own childhoods. Which is more gay?

BTW, feel free to write in for Spongebob. I didn't include him in the poll, because not many college kids watch Barney or the 'tubbies. At least I hope not.

How about the wiggles. Those dudes are straight up the scariest thing on TV.

They're nowhere near as wrong as either Barney or teletubbies.

By thr way, is it wrong that the girls dressed as male pirates in the Captain Feathersword skits give me wood?

I won't tell, if you keep to yourself the thoughts I have when I see that pink-haired girl dance around on 'Lazy Town'.

Hmmmm. Might have to see what the girl thinks of this show when I get home from work this morning... mwahahahhahah.

Yeah that pink haired girl is soooo wrong....

What the hell are you doing w/ Barney and TTs they are so out of date.

The Wiggles rock, and Marissa ( cute blond dancer ) is worth a look.

Oh man, I hated the Wiggles. Luckily my kids didn't get into them much, either. And no, I don't think it was because I said, 'Ewwwwww, the Wiggles' whenever it was on.

Every time I see them, I keep thinking they're the extras from the original star trek that got killed whenever they beamed down.

Sacramento Public TV, they probably pick the stuff up cheap.

Also, I made a couple of tapes that we run in a loop for her . She loves it.

Get her a few dolls, maybe a couple my little ponies and a tea set -- you won't have to watch so many childrens shows. Although you may have to participate in more tea parties attended by my little ponies; but those can be fun.

Yes, I am a father of a 2 yr old daughter -- I have an excuse.

I have a 2 year old son, and I had the same (very awful) thoughts. But then I remembered I just saw Closer and realized why...

I used to have bad thoughts about Loonette the Clown from the Big Comfy Couch. I'm not sure if this is on anymore.

She used to do this stretching thing where she would lay on a mat with a clock face on it and move her legs to different times. I used to make my daughter watch that everyday.

My 1990's crush on Lisa Loeb has been revived now that she has some songs on Noggin. Daddy likes to see naughty little Lisa dancing around with her guitar - move over kid, you're hoggin' the TV.

I seriously feel for the young generation of today. I flip through their programs occassionally and can't help but gawk at the crap they are forced to watch for lack of a better alternative. And not just in regards to the polled shows (and similar), but cartoons as well. Gone are the wonderful days of shows like GI Joe, Transformers, the Disney Afternoon, Thundercats, MASK, etc.. Replaced by shiite like Power Rangers, Powerpuff Girls, and other junk I can barely stand to watch for the few seconds I'm stuck on the channel. Maybe there's a few diamonds in the rough that I've failed to catch, but I never see anything that impresses me.

Blue rocks, with Steve or Joe.
Franklin is a whiny, self-centered dope.
Oobi is high comedy - hand puppets that are just bare hands is funny.
I agree that Miffy must die.

Steve's delivery was hypnotic, Joe's..... not so much. Even my son makes sure that we get the Steve videos and not the Joe ones -- if we get a Joe video by accident it won't get watched until much later in the week after the others are run through. ( We get our videos from the library, and keep them for a week; then get new ones. Much cheaper than the alternative and the kids love it. )

You're right on about Stosh. My guy is just coming into age range for that. My hangup is with the Disney machine - it just feels too much like a set up for "buy this crap" later on.
Noggin=good kid TV with no commercials.
But to answer the OP, the teletubbies and barney are both bad. Neither show is permitted in the house. The tubbies get 1 star for being something funny to watch if you were stoned.

yo, seriously...

we need congress to step in here and make a law that states that seaseme street reruns take precedence over all lame gay ass kid programming produced nowadays.

same for fraggle rock and the muppets. mr. rogres too.

seaseme street teaches kids sh*t in a NON gay ass way. it involves a doped up bird and his funny elephant and the count and c'mon people!!!

this new sh*t blows.

time to go back to the old school

One of Dave Chappelle's best stand up bits is the Sesame Street thing. The Count is a pimp: "Four times you have been late with my money. I have been counting." "How many times must I smack you? One! Two!...." Classic.

Boomerang is a pretty decent channel, Looney Toons all day on Saturday. Old Jetsons. Baby-girl isn't getting it yet, but I love the stuff.

Re: Lazy Town. My girl gets freaked out by the 'bad guy's' face (the one checkin' it in above pic) and starts crying. Daddy: Awwww, c'mon hon, that little girl will be dancing again soon, don't you want to see that? Daddy does. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif
