What satellites are you guys going to try for this one, anyone have some good plan?

Obviously playing one of the Saturday FPP satellites probably has the most EV. Bang for your "buck", and you [only] have to make the final table to qualify.

You can get a lot more tourneys in by doing the 50 FPP ones, but when there is only one seat into ANOTHER satellite for every 100 players, you're really trying to push your luck.

That said, i could only afford one 500 FPP tournament, and i used that for a qualifier for the Sunday 500k, and have been spending the rest on the 50 FPP. But i dont recommend it.

I like 6-handed 11-rebuy pot limit tourneys. Loads of fun. You win $215 wsop dollars, and can use them toward any wcoop tourney.

Kind of odd to qualify for a NL Hold'em tournament through a Pot Limit tourney, dont you think?

And the buy-in for the main event is $2,600. While $215 is nothing to shy about, it's not getting you much closer to Event #15.

Am i wrong about any of this?

This is a little off topic, but what's a fair price for these tournament $s? I dont plan on playing any satellites, but I won't buyin directly, I'd rather buy the satellite dollars at a reduced cost.

The only price i've heard of like that was $190 for a $215 tourney seat. I suppose you could just take that ratio and apply it to what you're buying.

Sounds like a good deal to me, if anybody wants to sell me $W (is that what they're called?) for 88 cents on the dollar PM me.

I think you have a valid point about the 215 W$ being way too short for the main event.

But the 6max PL sat is a decent way to qualify for other events. I think the 11+r NL sat. is pretty soft, and used this to qualify for the HU matchplay tourney.

there's a 33+r sat for the main event. i'm playing one right now and its pretty soft.

case+point:
blinds 300/600, utg opens for 35k all-in w/ ATo.....

sometimes i love poker /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I agree that looks quite soft. My question for you, is wouldn't you take 500 FPP at a Saturday tourney and see if you can qualify before spending $33+R to do the same thing?

hahaha, or did you spend it all on a tshirt? Cause i suppose your way is the next best if you dont have FPP. /images/graemlins/grin.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not like this (from $38 DS):

Dealt to 0evg0 [Ad 8d]
TheBeat: folds
Godsp33d: folds
Buckohfive: folds
0evg0: raises 200 to 300
clchamb: raises 1575 to 1875 and is all-in
0evg0: calls 1120 and is all-in
*** FLOP *** [Ac 4c As]
*** TURN *** [Ac 4c As] [6s]
*** RIVER *** [Ac 4c As 6s] [3c]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
0evg0: shows [Ad 8d] (three of a kind, Aces)
clchamb: shows [Js Ah] (three of a kind, Aces - Jack kicker)

my understanding is its 500fpp to qualify for a 5000fpp tourney, which then qualifies for the ME.

So it is.

To me, still worth a shot. Plus i suppose you could do a decent number more of FPP satellites even if you just decided to take the points instead of the next tourney.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

i've bought about 3k from a few different people at 90%. best deal i got was 215 W$ for $150 but you won't find that kind of thing often.

i sometimes click through satellites close to their end while im doing other stuff and keep an eye open for people selling

as far as playing satellites, the doubleshootouts seem really soft to me. i prefer them to the 33+r since i thrive playing shorthanded /images/graemlins/smile.gif

The double shootouts are the way to go for the ME.
