I need to stop my wrongful use of gay. It's tough because I can't find any suitable replacement words. Lately I've been using "lame" but I feel very gay using it. Oops there it goes again. Help me.

How is your use wrongful? Have been using it to describe grossly heterosexual events, or just those that would not be characterized by cheerfulness and lighthearted excitement?

I think everyone is misunderstanding this post. I dont think he is looking for synonyms of the the word gay, but other ways to say "oh that's just f'n gay" but without sexual connotation...And to answer your question, i say just stick with "gay."

I use Thats Jewish, or you Fing Jews stuff like that a lot lately, its been getting out of hand, but Gay is also used often too, and I dont it doesnt really bother me.

the 5 years part was the really funny part. a good family friend that my dad went to highschool with told me how he and my dad got to be friends. they were someplace with a group of kids and this guy went to stiff the waitress on her tip. my dad said something like, "you jew," and the guy said, "as a matter of fact i am." that was like 45 years ago. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The right synnonym depends on the context because your use of "gay" means so many things, which is why it's so popular and difficult to purge. I have the same problem with "retarded." Here are some words that will work:

This is idiotic. So if you work with someone who is gay you couldn't come up with an alternative? I'd like one example where you must use "gay" not relating to homosexuality, etc.
