I just realized there's a magnetic charge in the ear buds that come standard with the ipod. I haven't tried it with the black covering but if you remove it, the ear buds will repel each other. Is this normal? Also, is it bad to stick magnets in your ear?

Just lay off the tin foil when wearing the earbuds. Seriously, those are small speaker drivers and will have a mag charge, it's how they work.
