I think the raise pf is a little light. There really any favorable flops that don't include a 7 for you, and you won't be able to limit the field with your raise, so I think limping is in order here.

the rest looks ok

you're shutting down if you don't turn your 7, correct?

What happened on the river?

And spiking a two-outer on the turn is always a good play, but next time draw the 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif . /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Been a long time since I've played any micro limits, but for a friend I'll chime in on this.

Only time I raise 77 at a full ring table is if it is folded to me in CO to SB. Being last to act without an overpair, I check behind and see a free turn, I think you need a two outer to be confident, even then 3 hearts makes me nervous.

At full ring micro limits, pocket pairs are only good when they hit sets or are over pairs.

I'm not six handed specialist, however I think limping may be a better line here. Your going to have a multi-way pot a majoritiy of the time even if you do open raise. This makes a holding like 77 weaker imo. Uhm, you hit your set which is good, the flush draw doesn't look too good...

I'd do this (grunch)

limp pre-flop
bet flop, in hopes of atleast getting a few folds.
turn: I'd check and re-raise, if someone three bets you, you can say flush and fold the river unimproved.

I dont like the PF raise, and I dont like the flop raise either. With 2 overcards and 2 hearts on the board, there are too many hands that can beat you, and if you arent beaten now, you are liable to be outdrawn if someone calls. You have no draws other than the 2 remaining sevens. I call preflop and check the flop for my free card

dont listen to anyone else, the PF raise is fine. we have one poster UTG which means he's an idiot and one caller. we're trying to get the blinds to fold and the poster to fold and isolate the limper (in a perfect world). didn't happen, and doesn't always happen, but that's the plan. on a flop w/ 1 over or rainbow suited id lead but here no one is going to fold since someone is holding a high heart or a Q or J so i think we ought to check it behind and see that turn for free. not a great flop for us, not great PF w/ the BB and poster calling. great turn card.

While I agree with you about the preflop raise being not the greatest idea since strawberry KoolAid, I think there are several decent flops for a mid pocket pair that don't make a set. Like,
