I bet flop hoping to pick it up. He calls, so I check turn when second king falls....

What if the turn was a Jack or lower? what about an ace?

Did I play ok? I really though he had a king, early on so no reads (2nd hand of the game)

keep in mind that the second king makes it less likely that he has one in his hand, i would bet out again on the turn and check behind on the river.. if he raises you significantly on the turn i can fold, but the way you played this he might be betting that river with a wide variety of hands since you showed weakness

The second K makes it more unlikely that he has one. I call that river all the time.

Anyone else call this on the river?

I mean, I didn't think he'd call the flop with 2nd pair... could be wrong... his check on the turn was very fishy just because that's what I'd assume he'd do with a king. King weak kicker he'd easily flat call my flop bet.

How do you think he'll play JJ/TT/A9 in this spot. I've seen much worse than a K here. I agree with the other poster though. Bet the turn. If he raises, then you can lay it down. But you've shown weakness on the turn and many times they'll bluff at the river and get you to fold.

Agreed, call river. Even if he is solid enough to usually have top pair here, you still need to call this because you are ahead of a lot of other hands that he could have.
