I meant my question to be rhetorical rather then get bogged down in details. So I'll try again.
YOU are the leader of Brittian in 1938. You don't know any of the events that will happen, but you do have all of the information available at that time.
You CAN successfully invade Germany. This will no doubt be bloody, and there many be guerilla resistance for years, but for the purposes of this question we will assume success is the probable outcome of invasion.
