I bet a little less than pot on flop to induce a call and potted it on turn to get value

you are certainly giving him incorrect odds to call the river (which is optimal). but i'd be content with taking down this decent pot on the turn (push). especially at a lower level, where a donk will feel compelled to see his flush draw through (absent a push from you on the turn) -- no reason to deal with a nasty turn card, that he pushes over the top on.

So you would've open pushed the turn? or bet more on the flop? or both?

I think you played it well, except for the river. The blocking bet is bad, because I don't think you can fold your straight here. I want a bit more value here. I bet more there. Small bet just seems so fishy...

What do you mean blocking bet? I was scared of the flush... you rahter have me bet a lot and look at a nice big raise when he hits his flush?

i think the point is, this is your defining moment. your t240 on the river puts 1/2 your chips in a monster pot. you're not folding this hand. while the smaller bet is almost inviting a raise (which you'll be calling) - it is probably more optimal to bet t400-500ish if this guy has hung on this long with 2-pair or the like.

You played it good, I think. This line will have you win more money but lose more often but that's fine because you're a solid favourite throughout the hand and you can't ask for much more.

PS these hand histories are terrible! Worst format ever!

Sorry /images/graemlins/frown.gif This is from Golden Palace, surprisingly most people on 2+2 have never heard of it, so theres no hand converter support... thanks for the reply though
