The last time I went to Vegas, I had an absolute blast. But, I think that I could have had an even better time if I wasn't so short on cash when I went. As a result, I am going to do this challenge. The challenge is simple...get 2000 50+5s played by the end of august. So far I have 69 played with an roi of 14.6 and itm of 37.7. My goal is to have an roi of 10 after all is said and done. This would give me a total of $11k. My plan is to use 2k to take care of general travel fees (plane, hotel, food, paying back a lender, entrance fee, rental car). 4k will be left behind as a br for when I get back, and 5k will be used for gambling/booze/stirppers/hookers when I am out there. As far as general living expenses until I get out there, this will be taken care of by rakeback. I plan on making an update to this every sunday and then on the 31st I will post the actual details once all is said and done. I will start out playing 4 tables, but eventually I will get to 8 tables.

Now for the numbers: Starting today I have 69 55s played. There are 8 days left in July, and 30 days in sept. This comes out to 38 days or 5.5 weeks. 2k-69=1931. In order to hit my goal, I will have to play 51 Sngs a day (which will be simple as soon as i start 8 tabling) or 351 Sngs per week. If I decide to take 2 days off a week that means that I will have to play 9 sets of Sngs per day when 8 tabling. Wish me luck and stay off of my tables.

GL man. I might go out to vegas too with Raptor depending on how I do. I'll probably see you on the tables during the next month. I'm 8-tabling 55s and 109s on my accounts AllInLuckBox and AllInLuckBot.

51 per day is harder than most think. I try for 40 (5 sets) every day and I get pretty burned out.

Good luck though...

Are you going to do them in sets or a new one every time you bust? 51 is long in sets but will not be so bad if you do one after another.

51 a day is only 6 hours per day....shouldnt be too hard considering that this is really all i have done for the last 6 months. I may end up playing 100 a couple of days in order to give myself a day off.....im kinda a workaholic though.

sure thing (thanks by the way). part of good goal setting is to write them down, review them, and break them down into smaller goals etc. in order for me to hit 2k by sept 1st, i will need to play 351 sngs per week. if i find that on a thursday, for instance, that i have only played 125 sngs, then i am going to need to play more sngs to catch up to my weekly goal. the easiest way to do this of course is to play continuously as i believe i will be able to get in an extra 2 sngs in per hour.

gotcha. For some reason i came to the conclusion you were referring to $$$ when u said ahead/behind. I always play "continuous" so was wondering if there was something i was missing. thanks!

hmmm.. i might play 55s with ya and follow you around just for mutual benefit /images/graemlins/wink.gif i of course would be 12 tabling, so you wouldnt have a free table.. oh the fun ideas i generate. holla

Best of luck.

I would recomend playing them in sets, over time it becomes easier and now I usually won't play unless I can play continously for a few hours. I'll be 6 tabling the 50's as well, so it looks like they could be a little congested for the next few weeks. I'll be playing under ThugangelX and IeatDonks, and I surely wouldn't mind avoiding one another.

Gl again,

"If I decide to take 2 days off a week that means that I will have to play 9 sets of Sngs per day when 8 tabling."

Damn man don't do that. That's 8-9 hrs a day.

If you played every day in sets that's still 6hrs a day.

Do yourself a favour and play them continously. It shouldn't be much harder (I don't think it's any harder) but the extra turnover makes a big difference, and you'll only be working 4 and a half hrs a day (which makes 2k VERY doable).

I had a very rough start to my challenge, I pretty much broke even for the first 500. There was a while in which I would lose every time I was all in regardless of whether I was a fav, a dog, or even money. So without further ado, here are some stats.

Poker summary 55s

ROI -0.5%

ITM 36.0%

Total Tourneys 500
Multitable utilization 3.72
Total entries $27,500.00
Total prizes $27,350.00
SNG Profit -$150.00

$/Tourney -$0.30
# hrs 96.82
$/hr -$1.55
Avg Finish 4.64
Bubble % +/- -4.1%

My finish distribution:
1st 8.4% 42
2nd 12.2% 61
3rd 15.4% 77
4th 14.8% 74
5th 13.4% 67
6th 12.8% 64
7th 10.2% 51
8th 7.2% 36
9th 3.0% 15
10th 2.6% 13

I took so many bad beats itm that it was sickening, there was a spot where I pushed itm with top pair on the flop 7 consecutive times, only to get called by a draw that would hit. Variance is fun. Also, I had connection problems for a couple that ended up costing me 5 sngs which very easily could have put me in the black.

As far as the amount played gos, I have been working for my buddy a little this month as he had needed the help, and I enjoy the exercise, so I have been a little bit slow. Also, this stretch was done mnostly 4 tabling, I imagine that as I get closer to crunch time I will start 8 tabling and will have several 250 sng weekends.

These numbers look VERY similar (almost exact percentage wise) for me in the 55s through my last 150.
