Deterrence for Terrorists?

Many terrorists or would-be terrorists look forward to death, but would they look forward to death by torture, mediaeval-style? Just a thought.

If you want to do something deter terrorism, then lobby congress to outlaw internet gambling.

That would surely stop bin Laden's followers in their tracks. It might even throw a scare into Saddam Hussein.

...for many reasons which would probably require an essay. However, some arguments do exist on the "pro" side.


Terrorism must be stamped out somehow, because in the future, the capability of the few (or even perhaps of the individual) to wage malicious and deadly mischief against many will only increase.

Iraq will have the bomb in 2005, or sooner. Hussein will drop, or deliver the bomb in a suitcase. This is fact. He will drop, or deliver it on W's doorstep. He is still flaming mad at his daddy. Iraq is not Afghanistan. This nation still has the ability to develope, and deploy nukes. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon. I'm all in favor of Nixon's idea. Let Turkey invade Iraq!
