UTG calls, 2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, Button calls, SB raises, BB calls, UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, Hero calls, Button calls
Flop (17 small bets): 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 4 /images/graemlins/heart.gif J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks, Button checks
Turn (8.5 big bets): K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds, MP1 calls
River (11.5 big bets): 9 /images/graemlins/heart.gif
SB checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks
Notes: MP1 often fails to protect his hand on the flop. SB sometimes raises light preflop.
My logic on the flop is that the SB has a pocket pair, probably less than JJ, and generally does not fold the flop after having raised preflop. I figured I should take a shot at one of my 6 (or fewer) outs.
By the river, two draws have hit the board (flush and straight), and I want to take a safe showdown. But at the time, I felt that I would have been raised on the turn (or, having seen my opponents play, would have been bet into) if somebody had the flush. The straight was awkward and backdoor, but they got a free card on the flop. Looking back, there might have been a good chance I had the best hand most of the time.
