Common theme is some bad beats and PF raises which are way too small if you are going to chuck it all in there no matter what.

Raise more preflop

-Skeme-
07-22-2005, 11:31 PM
Hand #1: I raise more preflop. I probably make it at least $5. With the action he's giving, he probably has a set, but overpairs from total idiots sometimes play this way. I probably bet more on the flop as well, and maybe squeeze out a fold here, just maybe. It's hard, but a read on Villain would help.

Hand #2: Again, I'd raise more preflop. I'd make it $10 here with that caller of the $2.41 bet. Good bet on the flop, but the minraise is always scary. It should be fairly obvious that he's not on missed overs, and doubtful he has a smaller overpair. Him only having $18 left sucks, too. So a call = a push if you want to go with it. Again, a read on him would help. Definitely an unfortunate hand.

Hand #3: Absolutely must raise more preflop. I make it $3.50 from the BB. I don't get why you're betting so weak here. You just trying to get a push from short stacked CO? His range is much wider now that he's so short and that you've bet so weak. I can see him pushing here with Diamonds or the Ten. Tough break, but bet harder. What if MP calls getting over 3:1 and hits flush draw? Sure you might get away from it then, but you still gave him correct odds to hit.

Hand #4: Maye it's because I play full ring and you play 6 Max, but I always raise 4xBB+1BB for each limper. I make it $3 here. Flop bet is fine. Turn I might check-call a small bet and block river maybe? I'm not experienced in hands like these, sorry. River is fold of course.

Hand #5: Good raise. Bad flop. As it played out, fold is needed. I hate having to call there, but I think you have to. I probably never fold for that check-minraise, but almost always give it up to a big bet on the turn.

Hand #6: Raise more preflop man. A lot more. This is .25/.50, right? Standard raise should be either $1.50 or $2, nothing less. When 2 players have limped, raise that [censored] to $2.50 or $3 minimum. Flop bet is good, turn bet is good, river I might check or block. No visible draws and he's calling all the way down. Minraise, uhhh I think this sucks. You're beating KQ, KT, QT and really nothing else. I'd like to fold here.

Hand #7: Raise more preflop for the love of God. This guy is shortstacked and has AQ. He's already raised $2 preflop with it, he likes it. When someone else calls, please raise to $8 or more. Make him call there and then get it in. You gotta make people put in more money to suck out. Not the other way around.

Hand #8: RAISE MORE. Is this a convertor malfunction?

Hand #9: Raise more preflop, okay bet on flop, good bet on turn, fold to minraise unless guy is a donk. Why call minraise and fold to blank river? After he's minraised there, he's rarely going to check behind. So calling there and folding to a blank river, you must think you're behind on the turn. Are you holding out for the last 2 Aces in the deck?

Hand #10: I raise preflop. I hate the call on the flop. I absolutely hate the minraise. I hate this hand. Raise pre and play normally.
