View Full Version : What's Your Ideal Stack Size Entering L4?

I play 33s. I want to set some stack-size mileposts.

Of course, if I score a huge gift and triple up early on, or if I take a terrible beat, this won't apply.

But, assuming a 'typical' array of 30 starting hands, what should I be aiming for entering the 50/100's? I don't like trying to steal the 25/50's, but I think that's a mistake, as my stack tends to be < 800 at this point.

Thoughts (without making me feel like too much of a fool)?

ideally you want as many chips as possible, but i can usually be somewhat comfortable with at least 800. the lower the stack size is the more aggressive you have to be... thats about it.

8000 chips.

sorry.

seriously though, i don't shoot for a particular stack size. i just try to play my cards well & i don't worry too much about trying to create "opportunities" where there aren't any just so I can have X chips at the beginning of Y level.
the only exceptions are when I'm short stacked and the blinds are about to go up. I'll gamble then to keep my FE.

So what stack size are you happy with? Ie. not worrying about stealing the blinds?

You should always worry about stealing the blinds. I find 1500 chips satisfying.

1,200 is good. 1,500 is better. 3,000 is phenomenal. 8,000 is ideal.

I go for 1000. So if I have 925 before the final hand of the 25-50 level, I move allin no matter what /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Joking of course, like everyone said its kind of silly to have a goal like that.
