If the software will allow, the moderators (Mat) should require that, in order to start a new topic on these boards, a member needs to first have a minimum (say, 100) number of posts.

bad idea. how are beginners going to ask questions? i was lost about bankroll, affiliate, etc at first. i had to ask some really stoopid questions before i got started. those WERE my first 100 posts.

i appreciate the effort though because after that last poll we need a break.

I think that's a bad idea but poll-starting priveliges wouldn't be. The vast majority of polls are either about something retarded, designed in a retarded way or repeated a retardedly large number of times.

if i dont have something new to post i dont post. 99% of the questions asked on here have been answered before by ray or flynn or raymer. people who post first, read the archives later are just being lazy and shouldnt be entertained.

Maybe 100 is too high. Or maybe it should be forum specific? OOT would be better off with this rule, but admittedly, Home Poker would not.

Definitely forum-specific. What would the Beginner's Forum look like under your draconian fist of oppression? SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS.

This couldn't work.... it would still allow me to start polls.

No regulation attempt that would not prevent me from starting polls is a good one, IMO.
