Villain in this hand is 75/12 over about 50 hands, and is generally donktastic. I find AK in late position and it's limped to me. I'd like to ratchet it up a bit and maybe narrow the field a little so I make it 7 to go, about my standard after multiple limpers. When UTG pushes I thought till there was about 10 seconds left on my timer. This was the 2nd time i'd seen him do this in 50 hands, after multiple limpers and then a good raise. He took the last one down uncontested. So far he's done this 100% of the time when confronted with the opportunity. My logic here was that he's not doing this with just AA or KK. He's doing it with a range of hands. The question then becomes, what range of hands is he doing this with. I'm thinking any pair from 22-AA, and maybe hands as bad as AJ-AK and KQ. I figure I could be up against AA or KK but that it wasn't likely. I really think i'm at worst a coinflip here, and I might be way ahead. After weighing all these options I called. What do you guys think?

Kind of, yeah. This seems like an automatic call to me.

I think that you made the right move. I've seen others doing this before and moooost of the time they are just buying the pot but have something that they like, generally a PP or Ax. I'd agree, you are probably at worst 50/50 a majority of the time.

You're getting about 2.2:1 to make the $86 call, so I think it's worth it.

That being said, I don't think I'd do it - but I'm weak and would be afraid of AA or KK. I'd be much more inclined to do it if I had seen him do this once before, get called, and show AJ or 99....

Hope it worked out well. -BT

You have to win this one 45% of the time (86/188).

Against QQ you win about 42% of the time.
JJ-22: you win 42-45%
AA: 7%
KK: 30%
But AA and KK is not as likely when you have AK, but he did a big all-in so that makes them likely anyway.

You really must hope that he could be doing this push with of these type of hands to even consider calling:
AQ, AJ: 74%
QJs: 60%

Not easy to call here I must say having only 50 hands on him. But he seems to be very loose.

I wouldn't make this call without a better read on him.
He is putting in a huge overbet against alot of limpers and a raise.

I've seen this move a couple of times from savvy cats... normally UTG has AA/KK or AK. If there were lots of limpers then the deck is probably tapped out of Aces and Kings, so if you're up against a pair, you might be 55-45 or worse if you have no live cards... at best, UTG has AK and you chop it. I would be inclined to fold.

I would have likley called in your position. I have seen guys do the all-in with a lot more money than is in the pot, I don't like that move. In this case the guy is willing to risk $86 to win about $10. Doesn't make sense to me.

I think this one is close (definitely not an auto-call). I'm leaning towards folding here.

Given your read it's an autocall.
