For those of you who didn't know, gambling is legal in Colorado - with a couple of twists. You can only play (legally /images/graemlins/wink.gif) in three small mountain towns and on two Indian reservations, and bets are limited to a maximum of $5.
All of the card rooms run a 2-5 spread limit Hold'em game, with a single $2 blind (why they don't run 2/4 or even a 2.50/5 game, I don't know heh). However on Friday and Saturday nights many of the larger casinos spread a 5/5 game - a single $5 blind and $5 bets on all streets. These games are notoriously loose and wild. Pots frequently top $150 and $200 pots are not unheard of. I'm quite certain that these games could be extremely profitable for a solid player.
My question is, what kind of adaptations in would you make in your game to play with this type of blind/betting structure (the 5/5 game)? I've thought of a couple of things already. One, raising the flop for a free card on the turn is pretty much a waste of time, since it'll cost you the same amount of money regardless of when you throw your chips in (although it might have metagame value.) Also, I suspect that the number of hands you'd be willing to limp with pre-flop would decrease significantly since the cost of limping in relation to pot size is much higher than with a normal 1/2 betting structure (then again, in a game this wild your pot odds and implied odds can go through the roof).
Any other ideas?
