Frakenstein's Monster

Anybody been playing this?

5 card draw.
Players may draw 3 cards max.
All discards go into a pile known as "the monster".
The player with the highest hand at showdown takes on the monster by comparing his hand with the best 5 card hand that can be made from the monster.
If he beats the monster, he takes the pot, game over.
If the monster wins, he matches the pot and the game goes on with a new deal.
Once a player folds, he's out for good.

It's fun dumping trip kings into the monster - bwaa haa haa.

I've never played this game, but I've played similar pot matching games like drop guts and my personal nemesis 3's and 9's.


The game will really only be good as long as someone doesn't understand the proper strategy (aka taking two short pair up against the monster). People will lose a ton and then either tighten up or quit playing. It'll probably be ridiculiously good while it lasts though. This would be the perfect game to end a night of drinking and playing cards.
