From all the good explanations of a stop-n-go that I've read, you do it when your hand is too good to fold due to its intrinsic strength and the blinds/stack ratio, and you have no FE preflop.

No reason to pull it here - the hand simply isn't good enough.

Greg Raymer talks about the stop-and-go here (http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&amp;Number=184256&amp;page=&amp;view=&amp;sb =5&amp;o=&amp;vc=1). He talks about it in relation to an MTT, but it's very pertinent to STTs as well.

Also look at his second post in that thread, it might be more helpful than the one I linked to.
