Hi, I've read the "beating party 10+1" document and found it very helpful. Are there general rules for heads up play?
Ideally by that time i've sussed out my opponants style of play etc...I will also throw out some test moves such as just calling on the SB to see if he'll let me get away with such moves. I also find that by folding really weak hands on the SB I can get him to do the same. Generally, once we are heads up I get VERY aggressive. Generally I'll raise or go all in depending on stack sizes with K8+, Ax, Any Pocket Pair, stuff like that.
If there's a document for heads up play for SnGs I'd greatly appreciate being directed to it or if there are some general rules I'd love to hear 'em.
Thanks in advance /images/graemlins/smile.gif

on a more serious note.
I think you have the idea there with testing out the waters abit.

You need to make sure the blinds arent too high to be testing though if you get heads up and they are high you should just be pushing almost any 2 cards..

What I like to do is fold every 4th hand or so just so he doesnt get the idea .

yeah. this is generally the style of play I employ. I just didn't know if there were any hard and fast rules for heads up play.

Push top 70%/call top 30% is a good one to fall back on if blinds are very high

Calling pushes with any K or A is a recipe for disaster.

u actually aren't aggressive doing only k8+, ax, pp

u can push many more hands than that...u can't call pushes with nonpremium hands, but i think it's closer to top 70% of hands that you should push...depends on blinds, of course

go to pokerstove.com and click on analysis and choose the first article on heads up play and hten play with blinds and stacks and u'll be surprised at what is +ev for pushing...
