Some, that's true, others have no history of childhood abuse and get into it for others reasons. (mostly money, for a few its because they like attention or sex)

Even if she was abused as a child, it doesn't mean she isn't well adjusted and/or coping now. Most people who live the real world are "damaged" in some way in this life, everyone has baggage and issues they have to deal with on a daily basis, most are minor, some more serious, some destroy them and/or others.

I think whatever path you choose to take with this girl, don't dick her around. (no pun intended, seriously)

Talk to her on the phone before you go out with her again if you think meeting her will make it awkward and don't talk about what she does on the side for money. Get to know her, see if there is anything there, and if there is, that is when you have to seriously sit down and play everything through in your mind about strong you feel about her and this situation.

Remember, just talk to her like you talked to her before she revealed this to you. If this issue is going to a barrier preventing you from having a relationship with this girl, make it a barrier based on reason not a kneejerk emotional response like fear.

Just like Poker, don't just do something on a whim, do it because you've thought it through and its the right choice.
