Warning: I'm fairly new at SNG's. I'm a LHE ring player normally, but have just felt burned out lately, so I thought I'd start to play a few more SNG's to break the monotony of limit cash games. Looking for any advice about this push.

Reads: Hero went through a nice run of cards in the early levels, taking down several pots both preflop and postflop without showing my cards. I've been quiet for a few hands now. BB hasn't done anything crazy yet, and has accumulated his stack by catching big hands after the flop and having people pay him off. MP1 has limped in a fair amount, and has played passively.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) http://216.119.70.224/converter/hhconverter.pl

BB (t1930)
UTG (t745)
MP1 (t1055)
MP2 (t1125)
CO (t750)
Button (t1080)
Hero (t1315)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif.

yeah, i can see it. a nice t250 pick up. a couple things though: nothing fishy about MP1's limp, and you haven't shown any loose/aggression yourself.

I don't like it. You have over 13 bb's and not that strong a hand. I see people limp call all the time with pp's and sometimes better aces (like at and aj). I may be wrong on this, but I just complete instead of risking so much for so little.

I think it's fine... a little risky, but I do the same sort of thing on occassion. I'd like it more if you had seen this particular player limp/fold before, but his limp would seem to indicate that he wants to play the hand cheaply if at all. You have FE on everyone at the table, so it looks like there's 250 chips waiting to be picked up.

this makes it good enough to push, despite this:

and has played passively

(i.e., more likely he'd limp AJ instead of raising.)
