Follow up by Gervais & Merchant (those of the incredible "The Office"). I was anticipating a flop but the previews have been unanimously glowing thus far so I can't wait.

Slightly OT, but have you seen that clip of a mickey-take of Blake's 7 called Blakes Junction 7.
It has the guy that plays Gareth in the Office dressed as Servalan! LOL!

Blake's Junction 7
Review: Fab short film set at Newport Pagnell services.
OK, just to move this thread even more off-topic, I used to live near Newport Pagnell services. We used to take acid and go there to get a cup of tea, it was the only place still open at 4am in those days. Yeah, I'm british. We take acid and then go and get a nice cup of soothing tea. It takes the edge off /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I think hallucinagenics and doing things that are 'British' somehow go together really well.
It's like going to a nice quiet meadow to find magic mushrooms, and then just eating them there and then, and sittng there for a few hours...
Imagine trainspotting or feeding the pigeons mid-trip. Whoah!

I was very disappointed to see that this was not about a massage parlour.

That was good, with some great moments. The Stiller scenes were particularly great. Not in the same league as The Office, but that is no disgrace.

Episode II was some way better than I.
I must have been laughing out loud for half of the episode - very very funny.

III > I > 2.
Amazingly Kate Winslet was really funny in the third one + gags about the disabled are always funny.

I thought the third one was good - but more so in the cringeworthiness stakes than the previous episodes which were lol funny.

Episode IV was really bizarre, but excellent, especially the second half.
Ep 1 - Not bad.
Ep 2 - Meh.
Ep 3 - F'ing great.
Ep 4 - Awful mostly, one or two laughs.

I thought Les Dennis was funny as hell, they gave him some great lines.

i think the office is perhaps the finest comedy series to grace a television set. Im also a big fan of gervais's stand up.
I think extras was pretty weak in comparison. I found it very hit and miss. When it was good it was great when it was bad it was absolutly awful.
lets face it the office is a tough act to follow and anything that gervais had done after it was almost destined to disapoint the hardcore office fans.
i think on the whole he did well with extras and look forward to the upcoming second series.
hes also writing an episode of the simpsons- cant wait for that.
cheers.
someday.

I think there were 6.
Ep 1 - Not bad.
Ep 2 - Meh.
Ep 3 - F'ing great.
Ep 4 - Awful mostly, one or two laughs.
Ep 5 - Meh.
Ep 6 - Not bad.

I thought 2 (the one with Ross Kemp, right?) was the best one.
It's hard to put into words how much better than the rest episode 3 was. It was sublime.
