Jeremy Piven? He's John Cusack's sidekick right? Wasn't PCU the best thing he's ever done? Why is he awesome?

d1ck. j/k.

I don't think he was overshadowed at all. The story really wasn't about him. It was about the other three. Piven just played a supporting role as a villain. And I think he did a great job with it.

I didn't think it was strange at all. I was thinking the same thing Dominic was. All the previous posters are quoting lines from an actor and calling him great because of certain lines someone gave him to read. They're cool lines. That doesn't make him cool. I've always thought he was a dweeb.

But it really is Piven that makes the character so great. Yeah, he's given great lines, but so are all of the characters in that show. Piven steals every scene he's in.

wh1t3bread
07-20-2005, 11:58 AM
First of all we don't know that he didn't make up the lines himself. Second, even if he didn't his delivery makes them them extremely funny.

You think David Schwimmer or some other assmonkey could do just as well or better? I personally don't think so.

so then how does anyone ever have a favorite actor/actress? without someone to bring life to the script its just words on a paper, there have been great scripts that were clever and witty that have been torn to shreds by crappy actors and then there have been mediocre scripts turned into gold because the cast elevated it. you are making it sound like they are just reading what they wrote and thats it.

I haven't seen Entourage yet, but I have been a fan of Piven's since he played the extra drunk guy in Say Anything. One of my fav lines of his (that hasn't been mentioned yet) is from Grosse Pointe Blank- "I'll see you at the 'if I've peaked, then I am kidding myself' party".

As folks say, it is all in his delivery. Good stuff.

actually, Piven was in something I wrote....and while I am still a screenwriter, I no longer live in Hollywood...I live in Vegas and am busy in preproduction on a movie I wrote that I'm also directing.

My thoughts exactly. I don't see how the fact that anne sullivan was her teacher or whatever could possibly be part of the joke. I don't think many people know that, so I don't see how they could be expected to get the joke.

Anne Sullivan was from Tewksbury, and/or Helen Keller was trained by Anne Sullivan in Tewksbury.
