The corvette is faster, handles better, looks better, isn't a chick car.

This isn't even remotely close.

A 2005 C6 against a BMW M3 would be a bit closer.

Corvette all the way. If we were talking a real Porsche (911) obviously that would be the answer but then you're talking $75K at least.

You can't beat a Corvette in bang for the buck though, so that would be my choice.

Well, it's a matter of documentation by various car mags which is better around the track. Let's say I'm agreeable to calling actual driving performance a wash, though my instincts say the Corvette will deliver more absolute performance vs. the Porsche's more accesible (cornering) performance.
