Villain has solid stats about 22/15
I wanted to represent that ace on the flop, maybe push him off a higher pair? I use a question mark because I really have no clue what im doing.

Its a good idea in theory, but the reality is that people just are not folding a bigger pair here.

I think you played it fine. Assuming villian is aggressive enough. He could be raising pretty light on the button, especially with you in the SB.
